This is a silver and beadwork 'tali pinggang' (belt) in the Palembang style and it is part of a set with a buckle. The colourful beaded strap is decorated with floral motifs, reflecting an important aspect of Peranakan material culture, where beadwork is utilised to ornament tablecloth, belt purse, cigarette case, and slippers.
