The rectangular plates on these ear ornaments are bordered by a double-line motif on four sides. Unlike the preceding period that used gold for grave offering, gold was fashioned into personal adornment in this period. This period also saw the beginning of using heat to work gold and the use of techniques like casting and soldering. Such was the sophistication of the techniques that it is possible that gold working had become a specialised occupation by this time.
