Singapore Bus Service (SBS) guide 1980-81

This is a Singapore Bus Service (SBS) guide for 1980 to 1981. In an effort to improve bus services, the government had arranged for the merger of the Amalgamated Bus Company, Associated Bus Services and United Bus Company to form SBS on 1 July 1973, and restructured the company.The SBS bus guides provided information on bus routes and the fare structure, in a convenient pocket size format. Due to population shifts and the expansion of housing and industrial estates in the 1970s and 1980s, there were frequent changes in routes. While new guides were published periodically, commuters also kept track of changes in routes, as suggested by the newspaper cuttings and annotations added to this guide.
