The Seventh Lord (Qiye 七爷), also referred to as General Xie 谢将军 and Daye bo 大爷伯, is a Chinese deity that escorts the deceased to the underworld. He is characterised by his tall and lanky frame, as well as his protruding long tongue. In addition to manufacturing joss sticks, Tay Guan Heng branched out into making figurines from the late 1980s in a bid to diversify their offerings and remain competitive.
