This document is a letter confirming Mr Lall Singh’s employment as a watchman at the Singapore Tobacco Company from 18 Aug 1948 to 31 Dec 1967, issued after his retirement. Mr Lall Singh had come to Singapore in 1931 and served as a Police Constable with the Sikh Contingent in the Straits Settlements Police from 1931 to 1946, when the Sikh Contingent was disbanded. Upon his retirement from the Singapore Tobacco Company, Mr Singh continued working as a licensed moneylender at Enggor Street.
