This large dish is painted with bright enamels and gilt, and decorated with two double-headed eagles, surrounded by Chinese floral designs. The double-headed eagle is a motif that represents the Habsburg eagle and can be found on a series of Chinese export porcelain that have been associated with the Spanish markets in the Philippines, Macau and Mexico. An inscription "D. Sta. Catarina" can be found on the border on the underside of the large dish and this object is likely made for the Spanish or Mexican markets.
