This is a calendar published for Tan Si Chong Su, a Chinese temple in Singapore established between 1876 and 1878 and is considered the ancestral hall for all Chinese migrants with the surname Tan in Singapore. The calendar comprises a Spring Ox diagram. The Spring Ox diagram reveals the weather and harvest predictions of the incoming year. The calendar also features images of the temple’s board of directors and leaders, which included notable personalities such as rubber magnate and millionaire Tan Boon Khak (1886 – 1966), Tan Chin Tuan (1908 – 2005); and founder of the Malayan Chinese Association and prominent philanthropist Dato Tan Cheng Lock (1883 – 1960).
