Singapore passport

This passport was the first version of the Singapore passport issued after the country gained independence, replacing the provisional passport in 1966. It belonged to Lam Po Chee, who arrived in Singapore from Sarawak with her family in the 1930s when she was about 10 years old. The Lam family founded the Kwong Lee Mortgage & Remittance Company in Kuching, Sarawak, in 1905, which provided remittance services for the migrant Chinese community. The company became Kwong Lee Bank in the 1930s and is known as Hong Leong Bank today.
