This jacket in periwinkle blue emulates the French court coat and features rose embroideries inspired by porcelain from Sèvres, France. It is paired with a blouse with lace and ruffle details, and a pair of studded breeches. This comes from Andrew Gn’s Spring/Summer 2017 collection that combines the rebel movement from the French Directory during the final years of 18th century, and the 1980s punk. Andrew Gn is one of Singapore’s most prolific fashion designers in history, achieving high levels of critical acclaim and industry success. He is the only Singaporean to be a constant feature of Paris Fashion Week since 1995. His creations are known for their elegant, feminine, maximalist aesthetics and are finely crafted, cross-cultural, and reflective of innovation in tradition in fashion. This work is part of his major gift back to Singapore.
