Collection of
German photographer Robert Lenz (1864-1939) was based in Singapore in the late 19th century, but his photographic services were very popular among elites throughout Southeast Asia. With his partner Kleingrothe, he ran another studio in Bangkok in 1894, but returned to Singapore at the end of the year. A few years later, he was appointed by the King of Siam to take his portraits in Bangkok as well as on his visit to Singapore.
