This pair of trousers features honeycomb and floral embroidered designs. Towards the end of Qing dynasty, women began pairing trousers with a jacket (ao). Trousers were typically worn by Han Chinese women and only the young and working women would wear them without a skirt. This pair belonged to the donor’s female ancestor.
