This photograph of Mr Lee Kuan Yew was taken during the Boao Forum for Asia’s annual conference in Hainan, China, on 21 April 2005. It was taken by prominent Chinese photographer Zhang Jianshe, who also photographed top political leaders and other notable personalities in China and internationally. The session was arranged by influential Chinese thinker and former Vice-President of the Central Party School, Zheng Bijian.
