Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles established a British East India Company trading factory in Singapore in 1819. This volume contains transcripts of rare letters between Raffles and Lord Minto. In these letters, Raffles requests for Minto to be Patron of the Batavian Society of Arts and Sciences, of which Raffles was President.
