This is a cablegram from Robert K. Knight to a Mrs J Knight of 29 Pendennis Park, Brislington, Bristol, reading: "Arrived Victoria safe and well home early November cable by return Gordon Head Camp Victoria BC Love = Bob +". Robert K. Knight was a Lance Corporal with the Royal Norfolk Regiment. The 4th, 5th, and 6th battalions of the regiment were attached to the 18th Division, which was sent to Singapore in January 1942 and slated to defend the Changi area. Knight was captured during the fall of Singapore.
