This pair of heeled shoes has sequins stiched on in an overlapping rows, creating a floral pattern around the entire body of the shoe. Sequins were commonly used in nyonya embroidery, but usually as accents rather than the focus of the design. These shoes would have been worn for special occasions. These shoes belonged to Mdm Ong Siew Choo (1930-2012), a homemaker.
