In ‘Monuments and Memorials’, Le dovetails personal recollection and published history in his woven paper-tapestries where images of spectacular Angkorian friezes are brought into tension with portraits of Khmer genocide victims. Of all the works in the exhibition, ‘Splendour and Darkness’ stands as the most complex in imagery and weave, demanding delicacy in construction and considered and contemplative reception.
