This silver casket was presented by the Sultan Abdul Halim of Kedah to Yang di-Pertuan Negara Yusof Ishak during his two-day private visit with his family to Alor Setar, the state capital of Kedah in December 1963. Abdul Halim was the 28th Sultan of Kedah, reigning from 1958 to 2017 and the first person to reign twice as Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia.
