Children's board game titled Toekoe Oemar Spel

This children's board game was published in Holland at the turn of the 20th century. Taking place on a geographical board featuring Aceh in north Sumatra, the game pits Dutch troops against the local leader of the guerrilla forces, Teuku Umar (Toekoe Oemar). This references the historical event of the Aceh War at the end of the 19th century, with Umar's guerilla campaign halted by a Dutch ambush which resulted in his death in 1899.
