Singapoore is a rare detailed representation of everyday life on the river against the background of Singapore. Along the Padang, a row of colonial buildings can be seen. Landmarks include the Governor's residence on Government Hill, St Andrew's Church and Raffles Institution recognised by its triple frontage. Warehouses and shophouses along the Singapore River also line the left of the artwork. The foreground depicts the flurry of everyday activities on the sea.
