Singapore Qantas Tiger Travel Poster

Developed as part of a series commissioned by Qantas for an advertising campaign to promote overseas destinations to Australian travelers, this poster features a tiger seated down and a plane flying overhead below which is a Qantas logo. Henry Rogers designed Qantas logos and fonts from the 1950s to 1970s. Each series had a distinctive look created through different techniques e.g. cut paper and collage or in this case heroic animal portraits. This poster was used to promote travel to Singapore. The series which this poster is part of represented many other countries represented by different animals. For example, a poster promoting travel to America featured a squirrel. There are at least ten known destinations featured in this series which include the Pacific Islands, Hong Kong, India, Britain, the United states and Australia among others.
