Talapa Chetti Melaka or Headgear

This is a traditional talapa or headgear worn by the men of the Chetti Melaka community. Made from batik fabric, the name talapa is a Tamilword; this headgear is but one aspect of the Chetti Melaka community’s hybrid culture.
