This was Benny Ong’s debut year as a designer when he established his label after graduating from St Martin’s School of Art and Design. Ong was also a founding member of the London Designer Collections, which represents the best of British designers. By the early 1980s, Benny Ong established himself as a Singaporean fashion designer in London well-known for his designer cocktail and evening wear. His early collections were sold at Harrods and Selfridges, two of London’s most reputable departmental stores and his list of high-profile clients included Diana, Princess of Wales and Queen Noor of Jordan.
