Rollei is a renowned German manufacturer of cameras and optics founded in 1920 by Paul Franke and Reinhold Heidecke. To remain competitive against Japanese manufacturers, Rollei shifted its production to Singapore in 1971, while retaining research and development work in Braunschweig, Germany.
