Each of the 10 skeins of silk floss is of a different colour, which gives an indication of the available range of colours. Silk floss was mostly used in nyonya embroidery. They might have been stiffened or waxed before working.Examples in this group demonstrate the variety of colours, thread and bead types available to embroiderers in Penang and Singapore.
