Around the 4 pieces of cardboard and 2 spools are wound silk threads of different colours. Silk floss was mostly used in nyonya embroidery. They might have been stiffened or waxed before working. Examples in this group demonstrate the variety of colours, thread and bead types available to embroiderers in Penang and Singapore.
