The body of this wooden walking stick has a brown grain with black patterns. It is topped by a gold knob, its facets decorated with foliate designs and crowned with an eight-pointed star. Walking sticks with a golden attachment were popular in 19th century Europe and often completed a gentleman’s ensemble. It is part of a donation which contains a mixture of garments worn by Peranakan men and women.
