White Kebaya with Grid-like Embroidery

This white kebaya has an intricate grid-like pattern embroidered across its surface. Modest amount of lace decorates the edges. Paired with a sarong, kebayas would have been worn by European and Eurasian women before it was adopted by Peranakan women sometime around the turn of the 20th century. It is part of a donation which contains a mixture of garments worn by Peranakan men and women.
