The Port of Singapore Authority (PSA) was established in 1964 to replace the Singapore Harbour Board, which had previously taken over the Tanjong Pagar Dock Company in 1912. The formation of the PSA was in tandem with the development of other industries in Singapore, as well as a continuation of maritime traditions that have always been vital to Singapore’s economic development.
