This is a programme from Aileen Lau’s performance of Emily of Emerald Hill at a fundraising event in aid of St Theresa’s Convent building fund. Aileen Lau was a teacher and an amateur actress. Her performances of the play were always for charity. Stella Kon is an award-winning Singapore playwright whose most important work was the 1983 one-woman play, Emily of Emerald Hill. She is also a descendent of two prominent Peranakan philanthropists, Tan Tock Seng and Dr Lim Boon Keng.
