This is Noel Coward’s autobiography, Present Indicative, first published in 1937. Coward was a famous British actor, playwright, novelist and performer. Coward made numerous visits to Singapore, and stayed at the Raffles Hotel. When he visited in 1930, he acted in a play ‘Journey’s End’ as Captain Stanhope. Today, the Raffles Hotel has a personality suite named after Noel Coward, and plays his song ‘I’ll See You Again’ at 8pm every evening.
