These sherds were uncovered the Kallang basin was dredged from the Kallang River estuary in the late 1960s and early 1970s. The motif on these sherds date them back to the Wanli era (1573-1620) of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), indicating their provenance as Wanli export wares.
