This is the party programme for the Bangkok stop along the Around the World Cruise on the R.M.S Franconia in 1936. The Franconia was a well-known cruise ship of the day, which stopped in locations including Malaysia, Bali and Singapore, where it arrived with over 200 passengers. This brochure belonged to Mrs Vintner who travelled around the world on the S.S. Franconia in 1935-36. The Franconia was a well-known cruise ship of the day; the brochure for the 1936 season is open to the page which describes Singapore and calls Raffles ‘perhaps the most famous and widely known hostelry in the East’
