This is a silver box, presented as the first prize for fancy dress. The Sarkies Brothers presented it on New Year's Eve 1926/27. The box was made by the Wilmott Manufacturing Company Their company stamp is present on the box, along with an anchor symbolising the town it was made in (Birmingham). A stamp of a lion passant certifies the quality of the silver, and a stamp of the letter 'Z' acts as a date stamp, identifying the year in which the piece was verified by the Assay Office.
