This is the original flexi disc record of Majulah Singapura, composed by Zubir Said. The version on this record is the original one composed as the theme song of the Singapore City Council. It was adopted in 1959 as the national anthem of Singapore with some revisions to the lyrics and melody, and unveiled together with the state crest and flag at the start of the National Loyalty Week Celebrations and the installation of Yang di-Pertuan Negara Yusof bin Ishak on 3 Dec 1959.
