This glass snuff bottle of compressed ovoid shape, the clear body suffused with dark brown swirls, perhaps in imitation of tortoiseshell. Glass was a popular material used for snuff bottles due to its versatility. Bottles in a dazzling array of colours or in imitation of precious stones could be created.
