The National Productivity Board was established in 1972 to promote industrial productivity. Teamy, the Board’s mascot, was introduced in 1982 and made its first appearance during National Productivity Month in November 1982. Singapore Productivity News was the monthly newsletter of the Board, distributed with the Sunday Monitor. It featured a comic strip called “Adventures of Teamy the Bee” which appealed to children.
