This is a blue stagan with floral and butterfly motifs embroidered on it that dates to either the 1950s or 1960s. This stagan could have possibly been worn as a belt with the metal attachments at the sides acting as hooks for the pieces. This might have been used by Peranakan women in the Strait Settlements as alternatives to metal belts.
