This kebaya from the 1930s has very intricate lacework and embroidery or sulam work. Floral motifs decorated the edges and sleeves of the piece. The kebaya is a loose open jacket worn by Peranakan women of the Straits Settlements, Indonesia and Indo European women of the late 19th to 20th century.
