The motifs of phoenixes, butterflies and the symbols of the Eight Immortals are found on this round-shaped hanging, which is of a high quality of workmanship. This wedding hanging was commissioned from the notable Shanghai silversmiths Jing Fu. A bed hanging like this was used in pairs on the wedding bed as auspicious symbols alongside other bed ornaments and hangings.
