This miniature screen consists of three panels. Each panel is divided into three segments and is heavily embellished with intricate filigree. The top and bottom sections of the panels are decorated with flowering peonies, while the middle sections feature complex vine and leaf filigree designs. The middle section of the central panel includes a Chinese-style dragon with flaring scales and horns. Floral patterns and ‘double coin’ motifs adorn the top of the panels in a form reminiscent of Art Noveau ornament. Two animal figures, possibly the Pekingese lions often associated with the Qing dynasty, sit atop the stands on either side of the panels.
