This photograph is part of a series which depicts the sights and scenes of 19th and 20th century Singapore.The Odeon was opened on 8 June 1953. The cinema was equipped for Cinemascope and was fully air-conditioned. It was closed in 1983 and was eventually demolished. A new commercial building named Odeon Tower was built in its place.
