This is a rare and complete set of a colonial officer's service uniform belonging to AF Hunter. Hunter taught at Raffles Institution in the 1920s and 1930s, and was Assistant Inspector of Schools in Singapore in 1937. His wife taught at Raffles Girls' School and the Hunters stayed at Malcom Road in Singapore. During World War II, Hunter was Second Lieutenant to the Captain of the Scottish Company of in the Straits Settlements Volunteer Force (SSVF) and was captured as a Prisoner of War.
