Teapots were used at weddings to serve 'ayer mata kuching' or longan tea during tea ceremony and other meals. Generally, they were of two sizes - the large cylindrical ones used to serve large numbers of guests or the small globular pots often used in pairs during wedding tea ceremonies when the bride and groom served tea to the elders.
