This cannon structure was previously located at Pasir Panjang Park. Although the cannon was presented by Mr. H.J.C. Kulasingha on 1 February 1957, it is believed to date back to the 19th century.Mr. Kulasingha was a prominent member of the Singhalese community in Singapore who was also actively involved in local politics. He was awarded the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 1955 for services rendered to the residents of the Southern Islands, who affectionately nicknamed him ‘King Kulasingha’.
