Ivory beaded wedding dress designed by Goh Lai Chan for "The Dress Shop"

This wedding dress comes with a headband, a tulle skirt and a belt. It was designed by local veteran designer, Goh Lai Chan, under the label "The Dress Shop". Embroidery and beading were common in wedding dresses of the 1990s. By the middle of the decade, a more streamlined and simple look was preferred. Off-the-shoulder bodices were more popular than designs which emphasised the shoulders and the upper arms, which started to go out of trend after the early 1990s.Western wedding gowns were quite common by the 1950s. However till today, most Indian and Malay brides are still expected to wear traditional costumes. Chinese newly-weds however, would usually attend tea ceremony in traditional costume and wear the Western wedding gowns and suits for engagement, dinner or ceremony in churches.
