A vast majority of bronze artefacts that have been recovered from excavations in Thailand include bangles, bracelets, anklets and neckrings. They have appeared as objects in isolation or as ornaments attached to bangles and bracelets. It has been suggested that bangles with bells were likely to be used as a musical accompaniments in ritual dances. The site of Ban Chiang was first discovered in 1957. Pottery was found with skeletal remains, glass beads as well as iron and bronze bracelets.
