Kerosang are decorative sets of brooches used as fasteners on blouses. They are commonly found in sets of three, such as this one. It is made of gold and what could be irregularly shaped, old mine cut diamonds. This lends each piece in the set some individuality, as each design has to be reinterpreted to accommodate the individual stones. Each piece could be joined together using small chains known as kerosang rantay. The motifs on these pieces include densely patterned floral sprays with the design of a bird in the centre.
