This six-lobed bowl is covered with a brown glaze which stops short of the foot. Ceramics with lobed forms and foliated rims were popular among Chinese ceramics produced during the Tang and Song periods, reflecting the prevailing taste (especially among the elites), for simplicity and naturalism.
