This is a photograph of the Malaysian KTM passenger train Senandung Sutera (SS) 24 passing over Upper Bukit Timah Road at Rail Mall at 1051pm. The SS24 was the last train to depart from the Tanjong Pagar Railway Station for the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur every night when the route was still in service. The photograph is part of a series of images of the SS24 taken by award-winning Singapore photographer Darren Soh, who spent several months capturing images of the train along its nightly route. The first 26 images in the series are in chronological order, charting the train's journey from Tanjong Pagar to Woodlands. The last two photographs capture the final journey of the SS24 on 30 June 2011 before the seizure of railway operations at the Tanjong Pagar station on 1 July. To mark the occasion, the train was piloted by Sultan Ibrahim Iskandar of Johor, who was joined onboard by the members of the Johor royal family and officials, current and former KTM staff, KTM train enthusiasts and some 50 journalists from Malaysia and Singapore.
