This is the ceremonial garment top worn by the page boy in a Peranakan wedding. It features the central motifs of lotus and fish which when put together means living in affluence. This combination also implies the connection between male and female. Most garments worn during a Peranakan wedding were manufactured in China by skilled, professional embroiderers before being shipped to their Straits Chinese customers.
